Cross-Country Road Trip Day 24

Cross-Country Road Trip Day 24

We left Layton, UT and drove to Mountain Home, ID. I had wanted to stay in Boise, but after reading about bed bugs at the Super 8 I had booked, the least expensive and closest hotel available was a Hampton Inn in Mountain Home.

We stopped to eat lunch at a local diner that was really good and inexpensive. Outside the restaurant was a Sinclair Gas dinosaur and Wanda had to have a photo taken with it.

We next stopped along the Snake River where Evel Knievel attempted to ump the river using a jet-propelled motorcycle (and failed before launch).

Mountain Home isn’t much of a town, but the Hampton Inn was quite nice. Before dinner, Billy and I sat in the hot tub. The water was warm, but not hot and the jets weren’t working. It was still relaxing. We then hopped into the pool vacated by a family of kids (who hopped in the non-working hot tub).

Billy and I went to dinner at Wingers where we tried a flight of beers and ordered some food. I even bought two crowlers to take home!
