My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

This is the winner of the manual wheelchair raceโ€”and WOW, was she FAST! ๐Ÿš€ She absolutely tore through the course, and that turnaround?! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Watching her power, speed, and determination was incredible. Moments like this are exactly why the Fun Zone and wheelchair rodeo were so much fun to be part of. What an amazing athlete! ๐Ÿ‘โ™ฟ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช

๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿšฒ Day 2 finish line = FUN ZONE! ๐ŸŽ‰ After 27 miles ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿšฒ Day 2 finish line = FUN ZONE! ๐ŸŽ‰

After 27 miles of riding, rolling, and making their way along the Olympic Discovery Trail, everyone arrived at Carrie Blake Park ready to celebrateโ€”and celebrate we did! โค๏ธ

Yesterday afternoon I got to volunteer in the Fun Zone at Ianโ€™s Ride โ€“ Sea to Sound, where my job was basically to help keep the fun going. ๐Ÿ˜„ I helped participants with costumes, decorations, silly glasses, hats, and whatever else was needed to add a little more WOW to the celebration.

And then there was the Wheelchair Rodeo! Watching the participants show off their skills, determination, competitiveness, and incredible sense of humor was one of the highlights of my day. ๐Ÿ†โ™ฟ๏ธ

But honestly, the best part was the people.

From the riders and wheelchair users to their families, caregivers, volunteers, and supporters, there was so much joy, encouragement, and camaraderie. And apparently, there is no age limit on having fun with a ridiculous costume! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒป๐Ÿฆฉ๐Ÿ‘‘

This is what I love about cycling and outdoor adventures: it's not about how you get there. It's about getting outside, being part of the community, and having an adventure together.

So proud to have been a tiny part of this amazing day. โค๏ธ

Ian's Ride describes Sea to Sound as a three-day, 74-mile, multi-modal ride along the Olympic Discovery Trail, with wheelchair users strongly encouraged to participate. Day 2 finishes at Carrie Blake Park with the Wheelchair Rodeo specifically designed as a fun, competitive celebration of wheelchair riders' skill and camaraderie.
