My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

Today was perfect riding weather! 🚴‍♀️☀️ I headed Today was perfect riding weather! 🚴‍♀️☀️

I headed out intending to do my usual Pie Ride—about 18 miles—but it was just too beautiful outside to cut it short. So I decided to take the long way home and ended up with around 36 miles of riding instead. 😎

Since I absolutely hate riding in the cold, wet weather of fall and winter, I’ve learned to take advantage of every beautiful day I can get!

After enjoying some delicious strawberry-rhubarb pie, I headed toward the Eastrail. Before getting onto the 520 Trail, I made an important fuel stop at Burgermaster. Apparently, pie alone wasn't quite enough to power this ride! 😂🍔

Then came one of those little moments that make riding so much fun. Crossing the 520 Bridge near UW, I looked over and spotted ducks swimming below and at least a dozen turtles sunbathing on a log. 🦆🐢☀️

I hadn't done the Pie Ride in several months, so it was especially nice to be back out there—and it felt a little like running into some old friends.

36 miles, pie, burgers, sunshine, ducks, turtles, and beautiful riding weather. I'd say that's a pretty perfect day on two wheels! ❤️🚴‍♀️

🚲 The easy way home today! 🚆 I’m waiting to catch 🚲 The easy way home today! 🚆

I’m waiting to catch the Sounder train from Lakewood back to Seattle, where I’ll transfer to light rail and get to within a mile of home.

It was a lot of fun riding my bike down here on Saturday—almost 62 miles! But today, I’m perfectly happy to let the train do the work. 😄

Between the work traffic and all the construction around the trails, I’m not interested in riding those miles back today. Sometimes the smartest part of a bike adventure is knowing when to put the bike on the train and enjoy the ride home. 🚲❤️🚆

The best part is that the entire trip will only cost me a dollar! Can't travel but cheap by car!
