Cross-Country Road Trip Day 12
I got up around 8am, then woke Haylee up at 8:30 to start getting ready for the day. We left the house and drove to Halifax for the Shultz family reunion.
There was a big turnout of around 40+ people. I think after the cancellation of the year before due to Covid, people were ready to see each other. I only knew about a dozen of the people present.
MJ was excited again and wanting to play in the playground, running all over the place and wearing out both his mother and me. My brother, Mike, and his wife, Cyndi, arrived from Virgina and Mike entertained MJ for quite a bit.
My mom didn’t show up until around 2:30pm or so and then it took her another hours to make her way over to me to say hello. No hug or anything. I’m really tired of making all the effort, but she is my mom, so I suck it up and introduced her to Haylee and MJ. She wasn’t as gaga over the baby as I thought she would be.
After the reunion, we drove back to daddy’s house. Mike and Cyndi joined us and we picked up daddy and took him to Mission Barbecue for dinner.
I don’t know if it was something I ate during the day or what, but once back at the house I started to feel queasy. I laid down and got up to try and throw up, hoping it would make me feel better. I wasn’t able to vomit and laid back down. Almost immediately I jumped up and ran for the bathroom where I hurled for quite a while. I still didn’t feel that great the next morning.
