Lilac Century
I drove to the Spokane valley for another weekend away to do some bike riding. This time I was registered for the Lilac Century. I was riding the half century (50 miles) and looking forward to exploring another part of the state by bike.
Along the way, I stopped to take photos near Vantage mainly because the clouds were so dramatic that day.

Before getting to my hotel, though, I stopped to pick up my registration packet at North Division Bicycle. While there I had them adjust my rear brake since it was very loose.
My room at the Best Western was very comfy (and large) and I had plenty of room even with my bike in there. I also had one of the best sleeps before a bike event (I usually have trouble falling asleep since I keep thinking about the event).
The weather for the event was really nice. It started off a bit cloudy and cool, but I soon removed the sleeves of my jacket as the sun came out.
The route was so fun! There were flat sections along farm land and rolling hills in wooded areas. A couple of hills had me winded going up them, but they were so much fun on the downside!
I had ordered a jersey (like I really need another one!), but they won’t be printed and mailed until August – not sure why the long delay. This is what it will look like.
