Flying Wheels
I got up early, loaded up my bike and drove to Marymoor Park in Redmond where Flying Wheels would be starting that morning. I had originally thought to ride the 70-mile route, but due to some health issues, I decided to cut it short and only do the 50-mile route.
The route departed the park and went along a busy road that paralleled the Sammamish Lake Trail (which was having repairs done to it). At mile four, it climbed a steep hill and I had to stop mid-point to catch my breath before hopping back on the bike and continuing to the top. It went through country roads and by the old Carnation Farms. It then went along the river and into Fall City before looping back to Redmond.
It was a nice sunny day and a lovely ride, but my tummy issues put a damper on it. I’ll have to do it again next year and go for the longer route.
