My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

Even though my day did not go as planned.. not eve

Even though my day did not go as planned.. not even close, I did manage to take some photos. The last two are in Budapest. Lunch was a catfish soup with bread. I went to a tapas restaurant for dinner tonight.

Okay this happened today... I have been on a self-

Okay this happened today... I have been on a self-guided bike tour from Vienna to Budapest. It's been mostly trails but because it's off season, none of the little cafes along the trails have been open and no toilets are within sight. We've all been there.. that horrible stomach cramping when you just know you're going to need a toilet really soon. It's one thing to pee in the bushes when you're a woman but no matter your anatomy what do you do when you have to poo and there's no good cover to do so? I did detour and stop at a town and used a toilet at a cafe but I knew where things were headed and it was doubtful I could find another toilet further down the road. I ended up stopping my bike tour for the day. It happened it was my last day of riding and bike rental shop just had me lock the bike where I was and they would retrieve it tomorrow. I then had to find public transportation to get the rest of the way to my hotel for the next couple of days in Budapest.

I want to have a better plan if this ever happens again so are there better options? What have you done in the past?
