Long distance e-bike rider, inspiring others to get healthy and age well.

Since I ride an ebike, I need to carry extra batte Since I ride an ebike, I need to carry extra batteries (one in use and two in the panniers). These three batteries have a combined weight of 30 extra pounds on top of my 45 lb bike. So, even though I'm on an ebike, that extra weight really makes me work harder! The panniers make it easier for me to care spare tools, tubes, and anything else I may need to keep me self-sufficient on the long ride.

The first time I rode STP (in 2023), my brother drove my car and carried my extra batteries and gear. I don't have that luxury this time, so it will be interesting to see how well I do.

If you are riding STP, take a look at my list and decide for youself what to carry. At a minimum, spare tubes, a pump and tool kit should be on your bike or in your backpack! And, be sure to know how to fix a flat (classes offered by @cascadebicycle ).

I was supposed to ride 20 mi with @cascadebicycle I was supposed to ride 20 mi with @cascadebicycle today but as soon as we started to ride it started to pour down raining. It got to the point where I couldn't see because my glasses were covered in rain and fogging up. And the cold rain hitting my forehead also was giving me a headache. Glad we had bailout spots established!
