My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

Today’s ride was one of those days that reminds me Today’s ride was one of those days that reminds me why I love riding a bike. 🚴‍♀️💙

Donna and I rode almost 45 miles round trip from Bogachiel State Park to La Push and the Pacific Ocean. Most of it was on highways, but honestly, the traffic wasn’t too bad. Most drivers gave us plenty of room, which made the miles a whole lot more enjoyable.

And then there were the forest roads. 🌲 That’s where I really found my happy place. Just pedaling along, surrounded by towering trees, breathing in that fresh Pacific Northwest air, and letting everything else disappear for a while.

Then we reached La Push… and WOW. Those sea stacks never get old. 🌊

45 miles. Good roads. Great company. Forest therapy. Ocean views. And a very happy cyclist. ❤️🚴‍♀️

What do I hate more than biking in the rain? Campi What do I hate more than biking in the rain? Camping in the rain. Apparently, I enjoy making poor decisions in beautiful places. 😂🌧️

Fortunately, I came prepared. My Cleverhood kept me reasonably dry, and some cheap rubber booties kept my feet from becoming their own personal ecosystem.

Then I saw another group of campers setting up their tent under a pavilion.

Well, duh. 🤦‍♀️

So I found a different pavilion, parked my tent underneath it, and—because apparently I do have some survival instincts—picked the one right next to the restroom.

Tonight’s accommodations: Dry-ish tent, covered patio, bathroom conveniently located, five-star rainforest views.

Take that, rain. I may be wet, cranky, and questioning my life choices, but I AM NOT SLEEPING IN A PUDDLE. 😂🏕️🌧️

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to look for vampires.
