My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

Here comes the rain! Here comes the rain!
🚴‍♀️🌧️🌿 **Rain, Rain, Go Away… or at Least Wait Un 🚴‍♀️🌧️🌿 **Rain, Rain, Go Away… or at Least Wait Until We Get Inside!** 😂

Today I rode my bike to Fremont to meet up with my bike buddy Patrick for a little urban adventure. We had free tickets to visit the Amazon Spheres! I’d been there before in 2019, but it was Patrick’s first time.

If you’ve never heard of the Spheres, they’re those giant glass domes in downtown Seattle filled with thousands of plants, trees, and other greenery. Think tropical rainforest meets futuristic office building! 🌴🌺 It’s a pretty amazing indoor jungle right in the middle of the city.

Here’s where our timing got interesting. Just as we arrived and were locking up our bikes, the heavens opened up! 🌧️ It was raining so hard that water was pouring off the entrance like a WATERFALL. Apparently, gutters were not invited to this architectural party. 🤣

Fortunately, we were heading inside anyway! We enjoyed our self-guided tour, wandered among all the beautiful greenery, and pretended we were somewhere tropical instead of Seattle.

Afterward, we stopped for coffee and treats. I went with a vanilla crème donut, while Patrick tackled a gooey chocolate cookie. Tough decisions, people. 🍩☕️

And guess what? By the time we finished our snacks and headed out, the rain had pretty much stopped, and the sky was turning BLUE! We only got a few raindrops on the ride home.

Now THAT is what I call excellent adventure planning! Or maybe just beginner’s luck with Mother Nature. 😂🚴‍♀️

**Want to visit the Amazon Spheres?** They’re generally open to the public by reservation on the **first and third Saturday of each month**. Reservations are required, so check availability before planning your visit.

Another Seattle adventure in the books, with bonus rainforest vibes and surprisingly good weather timing! 💚
