My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

I’m on the Sounder train, heading home to Seattle with my trusty bike after a day visiting the in-laws in Lakewood. At the Sumner stop, another couple of cyclists hopped on and wouldn't you know it, one was my friend, Claire! 🤣

Now I have company for the rest of the ride home! Because apparently, you can’t put a bunch of cyclists in the same space without somebody striking up a conversation about bikes. 😂

We really are a traveling tribe. We ride together, we talk bikes, we share stories, and occasionally we even remember to get off at the right stop! 🚴‍♀️😆

Who needs a carpool when you’ve got the Sounder and a bike rack?

Today I hopped on my bike, pedaled to the light rail, transferred to the Sounder train, and made my way to Lakewood for a day with my in-laws. Who says visiting family has to involve sitting in traffic when you can turn it into a multimodal adventure? 😎

My mother-in-law got herself a pseudo mani-pedi (because even toes deserve a little pampering!), enjoyed some company, and I got to spend time with both of them. Bonus points: my father-in-law was actually in a GOOD mood today! Somebody alert the media! 🤣🤣

Now I'm back at the Lakewood station, waiting for the Sounder to whisk me home to Seattle. My bike is ready for the next leg of the journey, and I'm counting this as a successful day of family time, public transportation, and sneaking in a little adventure.

Who needs a car when you've got two wheels, a train ticket, and a sense of humor? 🚲💚 and did I mention it only cost me a whole dollar each way?! You can't drive for an hour and spend that little on gas!
