My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

Ten years ago, I never imagined this would be my life.
In 2015, I was carrying a lot more than extra weight. I struggled to be active, and diabetes made every step harder. Getting both of my knees replaced gave me a second chance, and discovering cycling gave me a passion I never knew I was missing.
Since then, I've lost more than 90 pounds. It wasn't always easy. While I was taking insulin, losing weight felt like an uphill battle. Thanks to advances in diabetes care—including GLP-1 medications—I was able to maintain a healthy A1C, get off insulin, and continue building a healthier life.
Today, cycling isn't just exercise. It's freedom. It's adventure. It's friendship. It's confidence. And it's one of the reasons I continue supporting the American Diabetes Association.
I'm excited to share that I've already registered for the 2027 Tour de Cure, and over the coming months I'll be raising money to support diabetes research, education, and advocacy. If you'd like to help, I'll be sharing my fundraising link (it's also in my bio).
Every mile I ride is for everyone living with diabetes—and for the hope that one day we'll find a cure.

What a fun surprise to find this package waiting for me! 💜

A little while ago I participated in @soundgenerations' Older Americans Month Bingo Challenge, and I was honored to be selected as one of the winners. Today my prize package arrived, complete with some awesome swag—a beanie, reusable shopping bag, cooling towel, pens, stickers, flying discs, and a heartfelt congratulatory note.

As someone who believes getting older doesn't mean slowing down, I love organizations that celebrate positive aging and encourage people to stay active, connected, and engaged with their communities.
