My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

Please repost this if you live in Washington state Please repost this if you live in Washington state. I am seeing so many emotors on multi-purpose trails and bike lanes and people just don't understand.

If you ride an e-bike—or you’re thinking about getting one—do you know the difference? 🚲⚡

Not everything with pedals and a motor is legally considered an e-bike.

Class 1: Pedal-assist only, up to 20 mph
Class 2: Pedal-assist or throttle, up to 20 mph
Class 3: Pedal-assist only, up to 28 mph
E-motos: Different category altogether—with higher speeds, more powerful motors, and throttle-only operation.

Knowing the difference matters. It can affect where you’re allowed to ride, what rules apply, and how other trail and road users should expect you to operate.

As e-bikes and e-motos become more common, understanding what you’re riding—and following the rules—helps keep everyone safer. 💚

Know your class. Know the rules. Ride responsibly.

Three other people who were with me at this particular store were equally as loaded. I think this is the most weight I ever transported with my bike. I'm glad the return back to the food bank was mostly downhill! Why I was in the store, I ran into Gina from @cascadebicycle
