My adventures are as diverse as my friends. I'm an advid long-distance bike rider, cook, author, artist, volunteer, mother, grandmother, and wife.

🚴‍♀️ One of my favorite days on San Juan Island! W 🚴‍♀️ One of my favorite days on San Juan Island! We pedaled to beautiful Roche Harbor, where we took a well-earned break. I cooled off with a refreshing lemonade while Patrick enjoyed a beer before we tackled one of the biggest climbs of the day.

Along the way we found whimsical fairy villages hidden in the forest, admired the historic Hotel de Haro, laughed at a Dalmatian fire hydrant, and soaked in spectacular waterfront views. It's amazing how a bike lets you slow down enough to discover all the little things you might otherwise miss.

San Juan Island didn't disappoint—every mile brought another surprise and another reason to stop and smile. ❤️🚴‍♀️

Have you ever discovered something unexpected on a bike ride that made you stop in your tracks?

🏕️ Four days. One tent. One bike. Simple food. Zer 🏕️ Four days. One tent. One bike. Simple food. Zero stress.

This is what camping looks like for me. No fancy camp kitchen or gourmet meals—just easy food that fuels the adventure.

☕ Breakfast: oatmeal or a breakfast skillet burrito wrap
🥪 Lunch: Uncrustables PB&J sandwiches
🐙 Dinner: canned seafood, fresh vegetables, avocado... and tonight, smoked octopus!

After a full day of hiking the trails at Spencer Spit State Park, this is exactly the kind of meal that hits the spot. High protein, fresh veggies, healthy fats, and almost no cleanup. More time enjoying nature, less time cooking.

Question: Has anybody else ever eaten octopus for dinner while camping? 😄 I have a feeling I'm in the minority!
